Don’t put all your chips in one salsa… especially when you can put them in MANY bowls of salsa at the deliciously competitive 14th Annual Salsa Showdown, presented by Rubio Law Firm. Hosted at Cahaba Brewery Co., this event will be going down on May 3rd from 2–6 p.m., which gives you plenty of time to decide on your favorite salsa, queso, guacamole, and specialty dip.
There will be a jury that awards “Best Salsa,” “Best Quest,” “Best Guacamole,” and “Best Specialty Dip,” but don’t worry—your opinion matters too, because you can vote for the audience’s “best” awards for each of those categories! Order your tickets in advance for $20 and save yourself $5, or you can buy them at the door for $25. Your ticket buys you unlimited sampling (a snacker’s dream!), a ballot for voting for your “Audience Choice,” and the (in)famous Hot Pepper Eating Contest with a cash prize.
This event is fun for the whole family with piñata smashes and kids’ activities, all while live entertainment plays in the background. And did we mention that the proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Educational and Outreach programs for the Sidewalk Film Center + Cinema? We love eating to support a good cause.
