The Trussville Chamber of Commerce has been hosting the Taste of Trussville event at the Trussville Civic Center for many years, and there’s a reason it gets sold out every year. Participants sample sweet treats from local bakeries and savory dishes from classic Trussville restaurants, all for just $25.

This year, vendors include everything from Rock N Roll Sushi and Rodney Scott’s Whole Hog BBQ to The Peach Cobbler Factory, Milo’s Hamburgers, and Bruster’s Real Ice Cream Trussville.

If you already have tickets, you’re in luck, but if not, you can still add your name to the waiting list just in case. The event is taking place on May 1st from 5:30–8 p.m. at Trussville Civic Center (5381 Trussville-Clay Rd., Trussville).

Melissa Walker, Director of the Trussville Chamber, shares that her favorite part is “the community coming together with these restaurants. There’s connections made, and a lot of times vendors will bring foods people don’t know they have.” She also points out that since it’s a family-friendly event, it gives the small town feel with lots of families enjoying it together. “The vendors love to talk about what they love,” she explains, recalling how vendors get to interact with the community in a unique way at this event.

Needless to say, Taste of Trussville will be hopping this year! If you can’t make it (or can’t secure a ticket), be sure to keep it in mind for next year, and take advantage of some of the other fun local events the chamber has coming up. Plus, you can still participate in Trussville Restaurant Week Bingo, happening May 2nd–18th.
